Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council
|
Intrafinity has provided the software platform to support integrating thousands of new immigrants into the Canadian work-force.
About TRIEC The Mentoring Partnership is an alliance of corporate partners, community agencies and the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC). This multi-stakeholder council works towards improved access to employment for immigrants in the Toronto region, facilitating opportunities to better use the skills, education and experience they bring with them to Canada. The Mentoring Partnership evolved through TRIEC’s mandate to support skilled immigrants and represents the best-of-breed in mentoring through technology, training and programme development.
The Challenge
- Needed an infrastructure capable of engaging the business community with this initiative
- Required support for managing mentor and mentee profiles
- Desired a way of matching partners through a weighted criteria
- Want to track activities of the mentoring relationship
- Required a means of quantifying value of the mentoring relationship
- Needed a combination of hands-on hands-off programme administration to accommodate different management styles of participating agencies
The Solution
- Scalable, customizable and automated programme design to enable future expansion
- On-line registration and authentication
- A comprehensive matching algorithm with customized and weighted criteria
- Event tracking
- Management and administrative tools for successful implementation and monitoring
The Result As of October 2009, TRIEC’s success has resulted in 4,489 partnerships. For sponsors like the Toronto Dominion Financial Group, this success is self-evident: “The programme is worth our investment. It’s good for the bank and it’s good for Canada” says Ken Pustai, Sr. Vice President of Human Resources.
