The eLearning Module is a complete e-learning infrastructure for creating, managing, tracking, delivering, and assessing e-learning, whether in the classroom or online.

The eLearning Module of the Extension Server allows Extension employees and customers, to receive knowledge and instruction wherever they are and whenever they need it. The collective expertise of the county agents, home economists and 4-H agents can be packaged into on-line courses and delivered to the Extension customers for on-line learning.

The eLearning Module of the Extension Solution was designed with non-technical instructors in mind. Thus, it provides an interface that is functionally intuitive.

• Knowledge Repository Integration
  The eLearning Module integrates tightly into the Knowledge repository Module. The Extension agents can query the knowledge repository to look up articles and resources to incorporate into their lecture material.
• Course material management
  Folders can be created to manage the online course material. These materials can be uploaded easily and stored in the workspaces for reference by the course instructor and the participants.
• Online Quizzes, Tests, and Surveys
  Instructors and administrators can easily create online quizzes, tests and surveys.
• Assessment and Evaluations
  Grades can be specified for the quizzes and tests and evaluations performed to assess the progress of the course participants.
• Synchronous eLearning
  Synchronous eLearning is achieved by integrating the eLearning module with the Web Conferencing Module of the Extension Solution. Thus, extension instructors can carry out live lectures over the internet and a single agent can manage multiple concurrent classes.
• Threaded Discussion Forums
  The eLearning Module also provides discussion forums where questions and discussions pertaining to topics in on-line courses can be posted. Correspondence can also be carried out through an instant messaging system for real-time discussions.
• Calendars
  The calendar provides a month-by-month view of all the activities scheduled to take place.
• Standards Supported
  Extension Solution's eLearning module is Accessible and adheres to WAI Guidelines. It also provides support for XML, Web Services, MPEG, SMIL, SCORM, IMS Content Packaging and Metadata, and Microsoft LRN.
