The Extension Portal module serves as the gateway into the Extension network and is the first source of information to the Extension customers and web site visitors. The portal provides the Extension with a unique look and feel that is implemented throughout the entire web site including the extension community portals.

The Extension portal contains information that concerns the extension and its customers as a whole. It draws on the information of the counties and provides a means for the counties to share information with each other and the community.

• Rich Administrative Control
  The Extension Portal allows administrators to create instances of the portal for the counties in the Extension, and to designate managers and assign them permissions. Administrators can specify which content sources are to be fed to all of the Extension portals as well as control the general look and feel of the portal to ensure it is consistent.

  The Extension portal module provides support for standards such as XML, JSR 168 and WSRP, among others. This allows for the consumption of information from other compliant content sources other than the Knowledge Repository.
