The Knowledge Interchange capabilities facilitate the interchange of knowledge between extensions by providing interfaces supporting the integration of different systems implementing the Extension Server solution. The integration between extensions is made possible through the Knowledge Interchange Module’s support of XML and Web services.

Standards Support

• Support for XML ensures extension to extension interchange of information residing in the respective knowledge repositories. The Extension Server Solution has a completely exposed XML API that allows extensions to use the same data definitions. 
• Web Services integration through Knowledge Repository enables a customer or an extension agent to search for information in the knowledge repository of his/her extension, while receiving relevant information from other extensions as well.
• Support for the WSRP standard also enables knowledge interchange and the sharing of content sources and portlets with extensions that are not yet implementing the Extension Server Solution (as long as they comply with the WSRP standards).
